interview with Sam from Life is Like a Box of Chocolates
25 Apr
Happy Monday all! Today’s interview is with the lovely Sam from over at Life is Like a Box of Chocolates. I love reading Sam’s blog. She’s got a lot to talk about and it’s fun to get in on the discussion! She’s also just started a fantastic new blog called The Appreciation Revolution. It’s a great way to send thank-yous out into the universe. Check it out! And onwards…
OKW: What inspires you?
S: People who have been through a lot in life and refuse to let it get them down. We can’t control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to it. Life is precious, so I truly respect those who can find the silver lining in the cloud and keep on living.
OKW: What do you do when you get writer’s block?
S: I step away and take a break. I’ve found that trying to force the words out just makes them sound stilted and fake.
Authenticity and honesty are really important for me in my writing, so I try to wait out the block when I can.
OKW: What’s your recipe for the perfect day?
S: Sunshine, a good book, spending time with friends and family…and a sweet treat.
OKW: Do you have a guilty pleasure?
S: Don’t we all? Cupcakes and crappy MTV shows are mine.
OKW: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
S: Wow, so many choices! I might have to go with teleportation. As corny as it sounds, I often wish I could give someone a hug when they’re feeling down- typing or saying so over the phone just isn’t the same.
OKW: What’s your dream job?
S: I’d love to do a toned-down-not-on-TV version of What Not to Wear and blog about it. I really enjoy fashion and shopping and putting outfits together. People definitely shouldn’t be judged solely on their outer appearance, but when you look good on the outside, you feel good on the inside. It would be great to help people feel better about themselves by learning to dress their bodies better…and then to be able to write about it to share tips with others would be a wonderful way to combine my passions.
Thanks for stopping by, Sam! Be sure to check out Sam’s blogs here and here.
